Bushfire hazard reduction burn at Bunya
Moreton Bay Regional Council wishes to advise the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will undertake a hazard reduction burn mid-morning on Tuesday, May 12 at Bunya, local weather conditions permitting.
The planned burn will be conducted in bushland at Bunyaville Regional Park near the Bunya Tip on Bunya and Dugandan roads.
Businesses and residents in Bunya, Albany Creek, Everton Hills, Arana Hills and surrounding suburbs may notice smoke in the vicinity of the burn, and are advised to keep away from the burn both during and in the days following the event.
Asthmatics and people sensitive to smoke are advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed.
Motorists in the area should drive to the conditions.
Pets and livestock should also be secured, if necessary.
Hazard reduction burn crews work closely with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to undertake planned burns.
